JANICE BARNETT

First and foremost Janice is an Arsenal supporter but would still describe herself as an ‘International Football Enthusiast’. She was first taken to Highbury by her father thirty years ago. Living in Dubai hasn’t dampened her enthusiasm and she still retains her season ticket (now for the Emirates Stadium) although more often than not these days she has to make do with watching from afar. Her most treasured moment is standing at Anfield with her sister watching the double winning match. A triumph of self-belief over the odds if ever there was one. Janice has been fortunate as most of her supporting years have been successful ones in Arsenals history. However, there have been football lows – Janice had her arm broken whilst playing 6 a-side football for her office team. But to prove every cloud has a silver lining, this happened two days before the 1990 World Cup kicked off ensuring four weeks of uninterrupted football viewing.

Professionally Janice works within law enforcement (so don’t mess with this one!) where she designs and delivers training and development programmes. In addition she is a qualified coach working with a diverse client base. You can find out more about this by visiting www.pathfinderscoaching.net ‘They thought it was all over- they were right!!’ unites her passions for football and coaching with her new found joy, collaborative writing. Whatever spare time she has she devotes to skiing (yes, Dubai has an indoor ski slope with real snow!), reading, belly dancing and drinking coffee.

GED PALMER

Ged Palmer is from Wallasey, Cheshire, is a Liverpool football supporter and has been passionate about the game for as long as he can remember. His earliest football memories are of watching the 1966 World Cup on black and white TV (yes, he’s older than he looks!) while sticking pix of the England team into his ‘World Cup Willy’ scrap-book (unfortunate tournament mascot name!). He was beside himself with rage to discover that the World Cup wasn’t on telly every week and has been searching for answers ever since.

Ged is a Psychologist, Coach and Human Resources development specialist who has spent the major part of his career in the Energy Industry. He has been closely involved in team-building and leadership training for the major multinationals, BP and Total, helping to build effective multi-skilled and high performance offshore teams in the UK North Sea oil & gas sector. He believes passionately in people power, that people hold the key to success in their hands and given the right motivational environment can unlock their true potential with amazing results. He currently works as a training and development consultant in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

JO SIMPSON

Jo’s interest in football began at a very early age. Growing up on the Nottingham side of the Derby / Nottingham border with a Dad and Brother who were ardent Derby County football fans, Jo decided to rebel against the ‘norm’ and be loyal to her place of birth and become a true red and avid follower of Nottingham Forest – much to the shock of her Dad, who then found himself crossing the great divide and spending alternate weeks between The City Ground (‘in disguise’) and The Baseball Ground

An inspirational Coach, Trainer and Speaker, Jo is the Director of her own Coaching and Mentoring Company, based in Dubai. Jo has over 20 year’s corporate experience, and a proven track record in managing training teams, facilitating, designing and developing education programmes in Europe, US, UAE and Asia Pacific.
Jo’s personal philosophy, that an organisation is as good as the sum of its individuals, each of whom need focused attention to enable them to grow and improve corporate performance, lead her to focus on Coaching. She now delivers Coaching within organisations, to enable individuals at all levels to overcome obstacles and raise their own awareness of their capabilities to achieve their goals.
